There is big news on the horizon, and we’re pretty sure a few of you are ahead of the curve. To that end, we have some info to pass along.

We are soon to open our second location, Azur | West, at the new development at West Ave, located on the corner of Westheimer and Kirby. For more information, visit the new website at www.azurwest.com.

If you are scheduled with one of the stylists below, your appointment will now be at Azur | West, and you should expect confirmation at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled experience. For any of our other talented stylists, we’ll see you at our ever-so-lovely flagship on Shepherd!

Complimentary parking is available on the 2nd floor of the Retail Parking Garage directly across from the salon. There are two entrances into the retail parking garage: one off of Kipling Street (behind Eddie V’s restaurant) and one off of Kirby Drive (between Tootsie’s and Ava Brasserie). You may enter from either side to access the parking garage.

Should you prefer, there is also valet available between Eddie V’s and Tootsies on the interior drive.

Several staff from Azur Salon were recently treated to a special color class led by master colorist, Jason Backe, of the famed Ted Gibson Salon in New York City (who you may also recognize from his many television appearances including – most recently – “The Real Housewives of D.C.”). Jason’s technique centers on natural looking hair color with an emphasis on a truly luxury experience, though he is more than willing to create bold or even punk color for clients those who so desire. With a client list that includes Anne Hathaway, Rene Zellwegger and several other prominent personalities, Jason is in high demand.

Jason led the staff through demonstrations on models to show off new coloring techniques and trends that we will see in hair color (and styles) through 2011. Be sure to ask the Azur Salon staff about their new inspirations in hair color during your next visit to the salon!

Trey Gillen began his hair tutelage under the direction of celebrity hairstylists Garren, Thom Priano and Louis Chiodo at the Garren, New York salon on 5th Avenue. Editorial spreads to his credits have appeared in GQ, Men’s Italian Vogue, Glamour, New York Magazine, WWD, Men’s Health, Dance Magazine and Dance Spirit Magazine.

For 4 consecutive years Trey has styled hair in Bryant Park for New York City’s Fashion Week, designers of note include Anna Sui, Donna Karan and Ralph Lauren. Catalog labels that have called on his artistic skills are J Crew, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Ralph Lauren.

While working as a stylist at Garren, New York, Trey’s clientele spanned from New York socialites, Broadway stars and TV personalities to runway models, fashion designers, rap artists and Hollywood celebrities. Mr. Gillen has appeared as guest teacher for the Aveda Institute throughout America. Recently, Trey has relocated to Houston, Texas and has quickly immersed himself in the fashion scene there. His most recent accomplishment was joining Shu Uemura: Art of Hair, as the Haigo Artist, providing education to a number of high end salons all across the United States.
